Our lab is serious about promoting an understanding of science and nature beyond our academic work. Members of the Kronforst Lab participate in a diversity of outreach activities at the University of Chicago and beyond. Some example of our outreach activities are below.

Greenhouse Tours and School Group Instruction

We use the natural appeal of butterflies to teach interested naturalists of all ages about science, biology, and evolution. As part of this work we bring groups from neighborhood schools through our university greenhouse facility and we also take lessons and materials to local classrooms. We also meet with university students, alumni, directors, and donors.
